Sugar, inspired by the Maroon 5 music video for the band’s 2014 same-titled hit, will be produced by Maroon 5’s Adam Levine and will premiere on YouTube Premium on August 15.  Each episode will feature a new artist, and the list includes Blake Shelton, Snoop Dogg, Charlie Puth, Kelly Clarkson, A$AP Ferg, 5th Harmony and Bad Bunny. Jamie Foxx is in talks to join legal drama Just Mercy. The feature is helmed by director Destin Daniel Cretton for Warner Bros. Set to produce are Michael B. Netflix is heading to the Olympus for inspiration for a new drama series. The streaming giant is reteaming with creator-writer Charlie Covell (The End of The F***ing World) who will helm the dark reimagining of Greek mythology. Netflix has handed out a 10-episode series order for the new series, titled Kaos. The official logline for the straight-to-series series’ order is: “A darkly comedic and contemporary reimagining of Greek mythology, exploring themes of gender politics, power, and life in the underworld.” Covell is penning the script. The remake of the 1990 horror film is in early stages of production. The remake is helmed by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and James Wan’s Atomic Monster. The film was about a species of Venezuelan killer spider that crosses the US border in a coffin to become a massive killer. The film was Frank Marshall’s directorial debut and starred Jeff Daniels, John Goodman, Harley Jane Kozak, and Julian Sands. The original actually made use of real-life spiders from New Zealand, picked for their large size and harmless nature. While not much more is known about the project, it is known that Wan (Aquaman) won’t be directing the remake, but guide it as producer. Still, in this early stage, no actors, or writers are attached to the project, but it is expected to be set shortly.
